Early in their friendship, artist Ingrid Lilligren and writer Debra Marquart realized that they had a lot in common regarding the content of their work and their artistic processes. Lilligren uses fire to create her stunning ceramic pieces, and Marquart writes about the fire that changed the course of her life. Thus began a long association in which their respective art forms found intersection points. For this artist talk, Lilligren and Marquart will show examples of their art-intersections and discuss their newest collaboration, a project that meditates on the state of the environment and the impact that resource extraction has on the health of the planet.
